ur goal is simple: bring attention to those children who wait, and help families who are searching to find their children.The adorable little girl in the picture to the left is my daughter, Liya. Liya was a child who waited on the CCAA's shared list for a family. Her forever family. Liya's picture and a short bio on her was posted on a wonderful adoption resource called Rainbow Kids. If I had not seen her picture one day in June of 2009, I would not have the pleasure of being her mommy today! That is when it hit me: how many other families can be formed by just a picture and a paragraph about a child's personality? How many other children would benefit from the same exposure?
I started advocating for children like Liya just a few weeks later. Now, almost 2 years later, I have seen many children who I have advocated for united with their forever families. I did not play a part in all of their stories, but I did in some. It brings me great joy to see that others are experiencing what I experienced on April 19th, 2010...the day that Liya Faith was placed into my arms.
